Developers at North Tyneside CCG have developed a text to speech translator featuring 30 different languages for use in GP practices to communicate with patients before hiring a translator for consultations and more in-depth conversations.
Clinicians can download the app to an Android device, type in the text and choose from one of 30 different languages then simply click translate for the app to read back the message in the chosen language (TTS speak language translations may need to be downloaded to device on the first installation). This is the second app to be released as part of the CQIToolkit project, more to follow.
